97 JG. "The 2010 Ruchottes-Chambertin from the Mugnerets is a brilliant wine in the making. The celestial nose soars from the glass in a blend of red and black cherries, blood orange, grilled meat, raw cocoa, roses, complex soil tones and a fine framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and very, very sappy at the core, with fine-grained tannins, tangy acids and simply stunning length and grip on the perfectly focused finish. This is a seamless and utterly refined example of Ruchottes-Chambertin." John Gilman, View From The Cellar #36, Dec 2011 |
