91 JG. ". . . the wine has turned out beautifully and is one of the finest younger vintages for current consumption. The bouquet is deep, lovely and wide open, as it jumps from the glass in a blaze of dried dark berries, bonfires, coffee, game, hickory smoke and forest floor. On the palate the wine is fullish, wide open and quite delicious, with good, but not great depth at the core, melting tannins and really outstanding length and grip on the complex and mature finish. I was really surprised at how well this wine has turned out, and it is a wine that I would heartily recommend looking for at auction or on wine lists with good depth of Beaucastel."
