"The 2008 Mugnier Chambolle AC was showing even better out of bottle than it did at the time of my November visit a year before to taste the wines out of barrel. The bouquet offers up a beautiful and very pure mélange of strawberries, cherries, blood orange, a touch of cocoa and a superb base of chalky minerality. On the palate the wine is medium-full, deep and intensely flavored, with great purity and focus, fine mid-palate depth and a very long, tangy and modestly tannic finish.
