Lassegue 2013, 0.75L
Bordeaux Blend from St. Emilion, Bordeaux
“It is in the most difficult vintages that you see the winemaker's hand; the length on this wine comes not from the depth of the fruit but from the gentle spicy notes of nutmeg and white pepper. Raspberry leaf and smoked earth comes through as things open. Helped in this vintage by the fact that the Seillans live on site at Serilhan, making it easier to treat at weekends, and this was a vintage when you certainly needed to do that” 90, Jane Anson, Decanter, May 2021

Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges 2015, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Nuits St. Georges, Burgundy
“The 2015 Nuits Saint Georges Village, a blend on different small blocks between the south and middle of the appellation, offers a fragrant, well-defined bouquet with red cherries and cranberry fruit. There is impressive mineralité and transparency considering this is a "mere" village cru. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, tart cherries mixed with bergamot and hints of early grey. I appreciate the complexity here and it marks a significant step up from the Bourgogne Rouge.” 90, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2016

Joseph Colin Saint-Aubin En Remilly 2020, 0.75L
Chardonnay from St. Aubin, Burgundy
“From both En Remilly and Les Cortons. A vague whiff of the exotic is present on the aromas citrus confit, passion fruit and floral wisps along with a phenolic note. There is really fine intensity to the dense, delicious and caressing yet powerful flavors that also terminate in a lingering and youthfully austere finish that could use a bit more depth. This too is quite good . . .” 90 Allen Meadows, Burghound.com

Daniel Chotard Sancerre Les Coutones 2022, 0.75L
Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre, Loire
“The 2022 Les Coutones hails from a clay-limestone, south-facing slope in a warm, dry season, which creates a ripe and full wine. However, it keeps its freshness and brightness, which leaves you wanting more.” 90, Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, Jul 2024

François Chidaine Montlouis Les Choisilles 2021, 0.75L
Chenin Blanc from Montlouis, Loire
“The 2021 Les Choisilles is dry and fragrant, offering tropical fruit flavors from mandarin to passionfruit. While aromatically exotic, it is structured, firm and precise, leaving you with a clear understanding that this is a wine that knows where it is going and has no time for lounging around despite its aromatic exuberance. (Drink between 2023-2028)”. 90, Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, Oct 2023

Auguste Clape Côtes-du-Rhône 2022, 0.75L

Coudoulet de Beaucastel Côtes du Rhône 2022, 0.75L
Rhône Blend from Côtes du Rhône, Rhône
“Bottled at the beginning of July, the 2021 Côtes Du Rhône Coudoulet De Beaucastel shows the fresher, focused style of the vintage yet brings beautiful fruit. Red, blue, and black fruits, peppery herbs, and underbrush notes define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, with ripe, polished tannins and a great finish. One of the stalwarts of the appellation, Château de Beaucastel continues to produce an incredible array of wines from their estate in the northwestern edge of the appellation. Looking at the vintages reviewed here, the 2022s are ripe, sexy wines that bring to mind 2019 or even 2009. The whites are absolutely brilliant, and while only tasted from barrel, the 2022s will certainly be incredible wines. The 2021s also showed well and possess more depth and density than most in the vintage. In general, Mourvèdre seemed more challenging in 2021, but you certainly wouldn’t have that impression after tasting at Beaucastel. The closest comparison here for the 2021s would be the 2008s, which are balanced, elegant wines that are still drinking beautifully today. The 2021s should be a step up in quality, although I suspect they will evolve along a similar trajectory. Lastly, the estate is wrapping up a massive renovation of the cellar that was built with sustainability front and center and will be using an evaporative cooling mechanism with stored rainwater.” 90, Jeb Dunnuck, Oct, 2023

Domaine Rostaing Les Lezardes 2020, 0.75L
Syrah from Collines Rhodaniennes, Rhône
"Moving to the 2020s, this is an incredible vintage for Rostaing. The 2020 Vin De Pays Des Collines Rhodaniennes Les Lezardes comes from the same three parcels every year, and the 2020 has a great nose of juicy raspberry and blackberry-like fruits as well as peppery spice and sandalwood. This elegant, medium-bodied, balanced, character-filled Syrah is best enjoyed over the coming 4-5 years. Drink: 2022-2027." 90 Jeb Dunnuck, Jebdunnuck.com

Roagna Langhe Rosso 2018, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Langhe, Piedmont
""The 2018 Langhe Rosso is 100% Nebbiolo from Barolo and Barbaresco-designated vineyards. Dried red cherry, mint, spice, tobacco, dried leaves and worn-in leather all grace this super-expressive, ethereal Langhe Rosso. The 2018 comes across as a bit mature aromatically, so I would not push my luck on aging. Even so, it is a delicious wine for readers who want to experience a Nebbiolo with early tertiary complexity. In this vintage Luca Roagna was especially selective with what he bottled for his top wines, so production for the Langhe Rosso is nearly double what it is in most years." 90, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Sep 2023

Bodegas Atalaya Laya 2021, 0.75L
Red Blend from Almansa, Castilla La Mancha
“The 2021 Laya was produced with 70% Garnacha Tintorera and 30% Monastrell, looking for a fruit-driven and easy to drink red with 14.5% alcohol, ripe fruit and a soft texture. 2021 was warmer than the average but with some cold spells, especially the one in January called Filomena that brought lots of snow, despite which, it was also a dry year and they got up to 40% less grapes. This fermented in stainless steel vats with neutral yeasts, with malolactic in barrel, where the wine matured for four months. This shows some toasty oak, but it might be because it's too young and very recently bottled. But vintages seem to take oak differently; they believe this will show as integrated as the 2020. Time will tell. In any case, it's a wine for the short term, and it's very good for what it is. 360,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2022.” 90, Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate, Apr 2022

Bedrock Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County 2018, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma County, California
"Bedrock Wine Company is the brainchild of Morgan Twain-Peterson, the son of Joel Peterson of Ravenswood Vineyards fame. His Sonoma County bottling of cabernet sauvignon is a blend of casks from the Monticello and Monte Rosso Vineyards (adorned with a bit more production from the less well-known vineyard of Lichau Hill). It was raised in around fifteen percent new wood and comes in listed at 14.5 percent octane. The wine offers up a deep and classy bouquet of red and black cherries, tobacco leaf, a lovely base of soil, roses and a hint of new oak. On the palate the wine is bright, ripe and full-bodied, with a fine core of fruit, firm, well-integrated tannins and a long, nascently complex and slightly warm finish. This is good juice ..." 90, John Gilman, View From The Cellar #87, Jun 2020

Hall Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California
"Primarily from the Hardester Ranch in Pope Valley, with other major contributions from St. Helena, Soda Canyon and Glass Mountain, it's a medium to full-bodied effort, with bold flavors of cherries, cassis and cedar. It's easy, but not soft, nicely firm, with a long, silky-textured finish. Craig and Kathryn Hall Sacrashe-d onto the Napa Valley wine scene with the 1994 purchase of the Sacrashe property, at the eastern edge of the Rutherford AVA. Craig was a successful businessman; Kathryn's family had owned a vineyard in Mendocino when she was growing up. From 1997–2001, Kathryn served as U.S. ambassador to Austria, which put a brief hold on the couple's plans to expand their wine business, but in 2001, they purchased the property on Highway 29 that has become their signature attraction. Mike Reynolds came on board in 2002 as winemaker and has since been promoted to president; my extensive tasting visit was conducted with the winery's current vice president of winemaking, Megan Gunderson, who joined Hall in 2005 as an enologist." 90 Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate

It should drink well for at least 15 or 20 years." 90 Wine Advocate
