32 Winds Platt Vineyard Chardonnay 2018, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Sonoma Coast, California

"Brought up in a mix of 40% concrete eggs and barrel, 15% being new, the medium gold-hued 2018 Chardonnay Platt Vineyard has lots of buttered citrus, exotic flowers, Meyer lemon, toasted almonds, and a hint of brioche to go with a medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced, seamless Chardonnay that has loads of character. It's beautifully done, has plenty of richness, a clean, bright spine of acidity, and a great finish." 95 points, Jeb Dunnuck, Jul 2020

32 Winds Platt Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast, California

"Slightly more expensive, the single vineyard 2018 Pinot Noir Platt Vineyard spent 17 months in 20% new barrels. It's a bigger wine, with a touch more mid-palate density and depth, yet it still has plenty of underlying structure and tannic grip, offering up lots of redcurrant and darker cherry fruit as well as curing spices, smoke, and foresty, earthy notes. Give this rocking effort 2-4 years of bottle age and enjoy over the following decade or more. This beauty strikes a good balance between Old World and New World." 95 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, Jul 2020

Anthill Farms Chardonnay Peugh Vineyard 2020, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Russian River Valley, California

"Matured in about 20% new French Stockinger barrels, the 2020 Chardonnay Peugh has delicate aromas of lemon peel, Greek yogurt and crushed stone. The medium-bodied palate offers much more than the nose at this stage, with generous, aromatic fruits, an expansive, satiny texture and a balance of honeyed bass tones, with top notes of tangerine and lime peel on the very long, energetic finish." 95 Erin Brooks, The Wine Advocate

Arietta H Block Hudson Vineyards Red Blend 2018, 0.75L
Cabernet Franc / Merlot from Napa Valley, California

"The 2018 Red Blend H Block is a blend of 56% Cabernet Franc and 44% Merlot, co-fermented. Like all of the wines from Hudson, the H Block possesses striking aromatic complexity to match its mid-weight personality. Dried cherry, herbs, iron, tobacco and smoke are some of the many aromas and flavors that grace this wonderfully expressive red wine. Bright acids and clean, minerally notes frame this exquisite red from Arietta. (Drink between 2023-2028) " 95 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Carlisle Syrah Sierra Mar Vineyard 2019, 0.75L
Syrah from Santa Lucia Highlands, California

"The 2019 Syrah Sierra Mar captures all of the personality of this breathtaking Santa Lucia Highlands site. Inky blue/purplish fruit, lavender, mint, white flowers and juniper berries literally explode from the glass. The aromatics alone are mesmerizing. There's quite a bit of tannin, so a few years in bottle is advisable." 95 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Ceritas Pinot Noir Hellenthal Vineyard Old Shop Block 2015, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast, California

"The 2015 Pinot Noir Hellenthal Vineyard Old Shop Block is another gorgeous wine from Ceritas. Supple, radiant and giving, the 2015 is endowed with striking purity and nuance. Soft, silky tannins and plush, red-toned fruit give the 2015 an element of sensuality that is absolutely irresistible. Blood orange, mint and pomegranate brighten the finish beautifully. The Old Shop Block emerges from a parcel of own-rooted, Calera clone Pinot and was done with 60% whole clusters. My visit with John Raytek at Ceritas was one of the highlights of my January tastings. The 2015s are off the charts great. Raytek clearly picked early, as the wines are endowed with tremendous energy and tension, the early-ripening vintage notwithstanding. These energetic, chiseled Chardonnays and Pinots will appeal most to readers who appreciate focus and delineation in wine." 95 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Chanin Syrah Schock Family Vineyard 2018, 0.75L
Syrah from Santa Barbara County, California

"This is a cooler-climate Syrah done with the light touch of a Pinot Noir master. The nose is extremely peppery, reminiscent of a tour through a Tellicherry peppercorn factory, yet with tart cranberry, rust and soil elements as well. The palate is immensely grippy with more white pepper as well as charcoal and brisk red-fruit flavors. It will also cellar very well." 95 Points Matt Kettmann, Wine Enthusiast

"The 2018 Syrah Schock Family Vineyard is Gavin Chanin's first Syrah, and it is fabulous. Deep and rich, but not at all heavy, the 2018 has so much to offer. Readers will have to be patient, as the 2018 is an embryonic wine at this stage. What comes across is the wine's exceptional balance and harmony. Time will be needed for Syrah aromatics to emerge." 94 Points Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Chappellet Cabernet Sauvignon Signature 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Malbec / Petite Verdot / Merlot from Napa Valley, California

"This is very complex, with blackcurrants, tobacco and cedar. Some sandalwood and terra-cotta, too. Medium-to full-bodied with ultra-fine tannins that are creamy-textured and so long and pure. Attractive and complex. 77% cabernet sauvignon with petit verdot, malbec and merlot. So good now to drink, but will age beautifully. Drink or hold." 95, James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com

"The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature is a terrific wine and a big overachiever in its price range. Black cherry, plum, mocha, lavender, spice, licorice and new leather lend tons of complexity to this bold, luscious Cabernet. This overt, upfront Cabernet offers plenty of near and medium-term appeal." 93, Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com

"Always a smoking value that readers shouldn't miss, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature sports a dense purple color to go with beautiful cassis and blueberry-like fruits as well as bouquet garni, spice, and obvious, rocky mineral-like aromas and flavors. Rich and medium to full-bodied, with notable structure and good acidity, it's going to keep for two decades in cold cellars. It's a candidate for the best Napa Cabernet under $100." 94 Jeb Dunnuck

Dolce Late Harvest 2017, 0.375L
Sauvignon Blanc from Napa Valley, California

“More sweet and candied than the last release, this now-classic wine made from grapes shriveled by noble rot is lavish in honey, candied orange, toasted peanuts, peach syrup and butterscotch flavors. The color is golden amber, mouthfeel is unctuous, texture beyond creamy and yet backed by a touch of apricot brightness.” 95, Wine Enthusiast, Apr 2024

Kosta Browne Pinot Noir Gary`s Vineyard 2014, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Santa Lucia Highlands, California

"One of the top examples I was able to taste from this terrific vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands, the 2014 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard is a big, rich, concentrated effort that gives up full-bodied notes of savory herbs, scrub brush, black currants and the classic savory, earthy and mineral characteristics that this site is known for. Fermented with 25% whole clusters, it has lots of texture, lots of tannin, and lots of length. It's a smokin' wine . . . . This was another rock star lineup from Kosta Browne and it’s certainly one of the most impressive lineups I tasted all year. And while I generally consider 2013 to be a better vintage than 2014, these 2014s are a step up over last year’s releases, which were no slouches either. The estate continues to use moderate amounts of whole clusters for their reds, and aging occurs in varying amounts of French oak (and recently, some concrete). While these are big, rich wines, they’re in no way over the top and the vast majority have classic, structured and age-worthy profiles. Other producers at this level are few and far between." 95 Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate

L`Aventure Optimus 2020, 0.75L
Syrah / Cabernet Sauvignon / Petit Verdot from Paso Robles, California

"A blend of 58% Syrah, 31% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Petit Verdot, the 2020 Optimus has a deep ruby color and a deep core of red and black cherries, chargrill, thyme, charcuterie and desiccated violet. The full-bodied palate is light on its feet with juicy acidity and approachable grainy tannins, and it has a long, layered finish." 95 Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Dec 2022

"Grilled meat, bacon fat, tobacco and olives to the nose that follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate with rich, creamy tannins. 58% syrah, 31% cabernet sauvignon, 11% petit verdot. Drink now or hold." 94 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com, Sep 2022

Law Estate Proprietary Red Aspire 2019, 0.75L
Grenache / Syrah from Paso Robles, California

"Plums, blackberries, ground pepper, and graphite notes all emerge from the 2019 Aspire, which has plenty of background chocolaty oak, full body, ripe yet certainly present tannins, and a great finish. Based on 86% Syrah and 14% Grenache, fermented in concrete tanks and aged in two-thirds new French oak, this powerful, mouth-filling effort will drink well for 7-8 years. Another estate that’s at the top of their game is Law Estate Wines, with the wines made by Philipp Pfunder now for many years. Coming from a higher elevation site on the west side of Paso Robles, these are rich, powerful, yet always balanced wines with singular characters." 95 Jeb Dunnuck

"A full-bodied red with lots of rich dark fruit, meat and toasted oak. Creamy and round. Fruity astringency to this that gives energy and focus. Mineral and salted-caramel notes at the end. 86% syrah and 14% grenache. Drink now or hold." 95 JamesSuckling.com

Paul Hobbs Pinot Noir Russian River Valley 2021, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Russian River Valley, California

"The 2021 Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley) is dense, heady and explosive. Russian River exuberance comes through, but amplified in all of the good ways and none of the bad. Even with all of the richness and intensity, the 2021 retains good freshness as well as energy. A touch of whole clusters brightens the finish nicely. Paul Hobbs’ 2021 Pinots are sensational. I tasted the wines twice, several months apart, and was blown away both times. It’s not an understatement to say everything has changed here in recent years. In the field, the focus has shifted towards cooler sites and leaving more leaf cover, while fruit is picked a bit earlier than in the past. Vinifications are much gentler, and the oak imprint, once such a signature here, has been lessened. The result is a set of Pinots that scream with purity of fruit and the essence of site. This level of quality can’t be achieved by a single person but is very clearly the work of an entire team. Bravo.” 95 Antonio Galloni, Vonious.com, Dec 2022

Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California

“So elegant, supple and silky, this vintage is a dream to drink now, but should also have plenty of life ahead of it. Aromas of blueberries and dark chocolate meld with luxe black fruit, mint and cocoa on the palate. A blend of 77% cabernet sauvignon, 18% merlot and dashes of cabernet franc and petit verdot. Drink or hold through at least 2030.” 95, James Suckling, Feb 2024

Vineyard 29 Cabernet Sauvignon Ceanda 2019, 0.75L
Cabernet Sauvignon / Cabernet Franc / Petit Verdot / Merlot from St. Helena, California

"The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Ceanda comes all from St. Helena and is based on 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, and the balance Petit Verdot and Merlot. Aged 20 months in 75% new oak, it has a pure, layered, balanced, and full-bodied style as well as textbook notes of darker currants, tobacco leaf, new leather, and chocolate. Its oak is beautifully integrated, and again, the purity of fruit is remarkable. Drink it over the coming 15-20 years." 95 Jeb Dunnuck, Jebdunnuck.com, May 2022

Evening Land Chardonnay Seven Springs Vineyard Summum 2019, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Eola-Amity Hills, Oregon

"This one of the top sites for Chardonnay in Oregon. The grapes are pressed as whole clusters and run directly into used casks for fermentation on native yeasts. The wine does full malolactic conversion, but it neither stirred nor racked during aging. The result has a lovely ripe apple and quince fruit with a suggestion of chamomile. The texture is creamy and rich, but there is no fat, and the overall impression is very Burgundian. Superb length and great aging potential make this is an imposing wine. Drinking Window 2021 - 2031." 95 Charles Curtis MW, Decanter Magazine

"Shows dimension and presence, with elegantly multilayered flavors of Meyer lemon, apple skin, yeasty lees and crushed stone that gather richness and steely opulence on the lingering finish. Drink now through 2023. 327 cases made." 95  Wine Spectator, Aug 2022

Walter Scott Chardonnay Freedom Hill Vineyard 2022, 0.75L
Chardonnay from Willamette Valley, Oregon

“Reductive notes of smoky lime and flint announce the aromatics of this Chardonnay from Mt Pisgah's Freedom Hill Vineyard. The elegance and austerity of this mineral-rich wine spring forward with complimentary sea air and grilled pineapple aromas. The palate is lively, bright, and mineral-driven, as gobs of briny oyster shell touch off laser-focused citrus and smoky chipped flint. (Drink between 2024-2035).” 95, Clive Pursehouse, Decanter Magazine, May 2024

Andrew Will Proprietary Red Ciel du Cheval 2017, 0.75L
Merlot / Cabernet Franc from Red Mountain, Washington

"Weighing in at 14.8% alcohol, the 2017 Red Wine Ciel du Cheval blends equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc from this outstanding site on Red Mountain. On the nose, it develops creosote tones alongside red florals, wintergreen, cigar ash and suggestions of Asian spices that all take shape in the glass. The palate is seamless and soft, delivering rich red and dark fruit flavors alongside black licorice and a hint of menthol. Glorious to consume now, the 2017 Ciel du Cheval could easily be a 20-year wine." 95 Owen Bargreen, Vinous

"Dark ruby in color, the 2017 Ciel du Cheval Vineyard is dark-fruited with juicy black plum, blackberry essence and dark cherry with hints of currants and cassis. Soft aromas of red flowers and pencil shavings waft with a dusty tension. Medium to full-bodied, the wine shows precision with an elegant frame and sturdy tannins, ending with a long-lingering, mineral finish with high-tone red fruits of dark, dusty cherry skin and red plum skin. This will drink fantastically for the next decade, but it won't do you wrong if you open a bottle tomorrow. Bravo!" 94 Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate
