Outward Wines Gamay Presqu'ile Vineyard 2022, 0.75L
Gamay from Santa Maria Valley, California

“The 2022 Gamay Presqu'ile is an absolute delight. Dark, creamy and super-expressive, the 2022 offers dialed up Gamay fruit laced with the floral and savory notes that are so typical of wines at this site. A reduction of stems to 50% from the 100% that was the norm paid off beautifully here. Ryan Pace and Natalie Siddique continue to expand their range, which is great to see, as the wines are compelling. The transparent, highly nuanced wines capture the essence of top sites in and around Santa Barbara. There’s a level of purity here I always find compelling.” 94 Antonio Galloni

Domaine Diochon Moulin-à-Vent Vieilles Vignes 2022, 0.75L
Gamay from Moulin à Vent, Beaujolais

"Domaine Diochon produces one bottling year in and year out, this Moulin-à-Vent Cuvée Vieilles Vignes, from vines planted in 1920, 1950, and the 1960s.

Soulful and savory, with notes of cherries, iron, and smoke, this is cru Beaujolais built to last."

Jean Foillard Morgon Les Charmes Eponym 2021, 0.75L
Gamay from Morgon, Beaujolais

"Foillard's Morgon Eponym comes from the Charmes lieu-dit, one of the highest parcels in the appellation. In contrast to the grandiose, deeply structured Côte du Py and silky-smooth Corcelette, this cuvée features a bit more crunch with lots of bright acidity and a leaner, more mineral profile. It nonetheless shares the satin texture of all Foillard Morgons, and should age similarly well for those willing and able to wait." Importer Notes

Jean Foillard Morgon Cuvée Corcelette 2021, 0.75L
Gamay from Morgon, Beaujolais

“The 2021 Morgon Cuvée Corcelette comes from vines averaging 50-years in age, this vineyard suffering less reduction in volume than others due to the sandy soils. It is aged in used barrels for around 9 months. It has a quite compelling and complex bouquet, with raspberry and wild strawberry, rose petal and light chalky scents. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, finely chiseled and lending tension. The acidity keeps this taut, focused, and quite minerally …. Bon vin. One of the original ‘Gang of Four’ disciples, Foillard is rightly esteemed as one of the leading Beaujolais producers, which is not reflected in market prices. Few wines represent better value than this. I have visited the Domaine several times over the years. On this occasion, I met with Fanny Bellenger, who works with Jean’s son Alex Foillard, to taste recent releases and take a quick tour of the winery. Unfortunately, due to the growing season in 2021, volumes are down 30%. The two 2020s I tasted from Alex Foillard are promising, especially the Brouilly that, when juxtaposing the two appellations, has more harmony and complexity than the Côte de Brouilly. The standout from Jean Foillard is the Morgon Côte du Py, though readers should not overlook the Fleurie despite the vines suffering grillure in recent years.” 91 Neal Martin, Vinous.com, May 2023

Jean Foillard Fleurie 2021, 0.75L
Gamay from Fleurie, Beaujolais

"From vines that are 20-70 years old. A shy nose reluctantly offers up its aromas of mostly red berry fruit that is cut with floral and earth wisps. The sleek and attractively textured middleweight flavors possess adequate density while preserving good delineation that carries over to the youthfully austere, focused and balanced finish." 92 Allen Meadows, Burghound

Mee Godard Morgon Côte du Py 2021, 0.75L
Gamay from Morgon, Beaujolais

“Anything but showy, this is a remarkably structured and concentrated Morgon for the 2021 vintage, but alongside the terrific wet stone minerality that dominates the palate there are also a delicate forest berry and violet aromas that give this an underlying charm. Very firm and complex finish that doesn't want to let go! A cuvee of wines from four parcels in this site. From organically grown grapes.” 94 Stuart Pigott, JamesSuckling.com

Mee Godard Morgon Corcelette 2021, 0.75L
Gamay from Morgon, Beaujolais

“This is a really subtle and complex Morgon that's sleek, concentrated and pristine with a slew of delicate red berry, floral and savory aromas. Very long, focused finish with stacks of stony minerality that give it wonderful tension and an austere elegance. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.” 94 Stuart Pigott, JamesSuckling.com

Guillot-Broux Macon-Cruzille Beaumont Rouge 2019, 0.75L
Gamay from Mâcon-Cruzille, Burgundy

"From Gamay vines planted in 1978 in the coolest of the domaine's red wine parcels, the 2019 Mâcon-Cruzille Beaumont exhibits notions of red berries, warm spices, smoke, raw cocoa and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, lively and concentrated, it's deep and sapid, with powdery tannins and a long, floral finish. It was vinified without any destemming. As I wrote of its 2018 counterpart, this is a serious, inherently structured wine, so readers shouldn't be misled by the modest appellation into drinking it too soon: four or five years' bottle age will be richly rewarded." 92+ Points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate

Domaine Lafarge-Vial Fleurie Clos Vernay 2016, 0.75L
Gamay from Fleurie, Beaujolais

"The 2016 Fleurie Clos Vernay wafts from the glass with a nuanced bouquet of raspberries, wild plums, dark chocolate and loamy soil. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, tangy and quite concentrated, framed by elegantly fine-grained tannins that nevertheless suggest this is a wine that will go the distance, much like the family's Volnays." 93 Points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate

"A markedly more complex if not more elegant combination offers up notes of both red and dark raspberry that are cut with hints of earth and pepper. There is more volume and intensity to the concentrated and serious medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a mildly austere finish that is notably longer. This is excellent and well-worth considering." 92 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound

Alex Foillard Cote de Brouilly 2019 2019, 0.75L
Gamay from Côte de Brouilly, Beaujolais

"Light, vivid ruby. Vibrant red fruit, floral and spice qualities on the mineral-inflected nose take on suggestions of incense and licorice as the wine stretches out. Sappy, incisive and pure, offering palate-staining raspberry, bitter cherry, floral pastille and rhubarb flavors that show a compelling blend of depth and vivacity. Closes very long and subtly chewy, with reverberating florality and polished tannins that come in late. That Foillard magic is clearly a hereditary thing." 94 points, Josh Raynolds, Vinous

Pinot Noir from Eola-Amity Hills, Oregon

"Made with 100% carbonic maceration, the pale to medium ruby-purple colored 2017 Gamay Noir Seven Springs Vineyard has a bright, fresh nose of raspberry leaves, strawberry jam and red cherries with notes of crushed rock.
