"... Shockingly tight for a Champagne from this warm, dry year. Lemon peel, white pepper, mint and crushed rocks abound. If tasting blind, I would never have guessed this to be a Pinot-based Champagne, such is its freshness and drive .... The Coutier Champagnes are full of Ambonnay goodness, which means they capture all of the radiance and textural richness that is the key signature of the village. I am often drawn to the entry-level offerings here, as the wines offer such an alluring combination of quality and value." |
