"Domaine des Cantarelles' 1998 Vin de Pays du Gard is fashioned from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah (50% of this last varietal was aged in new oak barrels). Aromatically, it reveals sweet cassis intermingled with spicy oak. On the palate, this is a chewy, youthful, well-balanced wine, crammed with black raspberries and cherries."
