Lot #998. Duckhorn Proprietary Red Estate The Discussion 2011

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 93 WSM.
"Duckhorn’s top selection from six estate vineyards, this includes cabernet sauvignon (62 percent), merlot (29 percent), cabernet franc and petit verdot, the blend aged in French oak barrels (95 percent new). It’s a pure evocation of Napa Valley fruit in a vintage that, for many, was challenged by rot. Rather than showing any rot, this wine has a cool woodland feel, its texture silken, its flavors hovering between black cherry and black olive. This may not be a wine for long-term aging, but it is compelling and delicious to drink now and over the next several years, with duck or lamb." Wine & Spirits Magazine, Oct 2015
Provenance: The Treillis Cellar
Lot Location: Orange County
Estimate: $55
