96-99 WA. "Coming from Bill and Liz Armstrong's Paderewski Vineyard on the southwest side of Paso, the 2013 Paderewski Vineyard is a blend of 34% Mourvèdre, 33% Zinfandel, 13% Petite Sirah, 12% Syrah and 8% Tempranillo, and is the first time Mourvedre (which is a variety Justin is more and more excited about) has trumped Zinfandel in the blend. It offers sensational notes of Bing cherries, blueberries, peppery herbs and lots of chalky minerality, full-bodied richness and a sexy, seamless and ethereal texture that carries plenty of building tannin. I underlined "Awesome Texture" three times in my note. Given the tannin, give it a year or so after release and enjoy . . ." eRobertParker.com #220, Aug 2015 |
