92+ JG. "1995 was the third vintage that Ted Lemon produced pinot noir from the One Acre Vineyard in Anderson Valley and the wine was showing very well indeed at the time of my visit. The nose is deep and complex, offering up scents of desiccated cherries, orange peel, sous bois, coffee, smoke, beet root and a lovely base of soil tones. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and complex, with good mid-palate depth, lovely focus and a very long, complex and classy finish. There was just a touch of “graininess” on the backend of this wine, which may well have just been sediment, as I imagine that bottle was pulled from a bin a few hours before my visit and may not have had a chance to settle. A lovely wine." John Gilman, View From the Cellar #33, Jun 2011 |
