Estimate: $30
1997 Havens Wine Cellars Merlot Reserve -- International Wine Cellar (May/June 1999, Issue #84): "Good deep red-ruby. Knockout aromas of redcurrant and Cuban tobacco; this reminded me of a right-bank Bordeaux, but with the urgent fruity brightness of California. Shows excellent flavor intensity, but less evolved than the regular merlot. Rather dominated by its firm tannic spine today, but there lovely subtle sweetness lurking under the surface. A very strong but understated merlot." 90-92 points.
