BUBBLE SHOCK

Limited spaceRSVP required

November 17, 2026, 6:00 PM Pacific Time

The Crack Shack Costa Mesa | Private Dining Room

A Blind Sparkling Wine Showdown FRANCE × AMERICA × BRITAIN Fifty years after the legendary Judgment of Paris, it’s time to shake things up. Join us for Bubble Shock—a sparkling-wine twist on the tasting that changed the wine world forever. This time, France, the United States, and Britain go head-to-head in a blind tasting of exceptional sparkling wines, served alongside an inspired—and decidedly untraditional—partner: JIDORI FRIED CHICKEN Think serious bubbles, seriously good Jidori fried chicken, and absolutely no pretense—proof that a great bottle doesn’t always need a white tablecloth. Taste blind. Pick your favorites. Then watch as the bottles are revealed and see which country comes out on top. A TOAST TO STEVEN SPURRIER We’ll raise a special glass to Steven Spurrier, the visionary behind the historic 1976 Judgment of Paris, with a rare opportunity to taste Bride Valley Vineyard, Bella, Rosé, 2014—from an exceptional vintage for English sparkling wine and named in honor of his wife, Bella. A fitting toast to the man who brought France and America together in the glass in 1976—this time, with Britain at the table. THREE COUNTRIES. GREAT BUBBLES. SERIOUSLY GOOD CHICKEN. NO LABELS. NO PRECONCEPTIONS. Will France defend its sparkling-wine crown—or is another Bubble Shock coming?

Five Crowns | The Hurley Room

Five Classified Growths. Five Historic Vintages. Five Crowns. This December, step into a Vinter Wonderland and journey through 60 years of Bordeaux in an extraordinary evening inspired by one very special number. FIVE CLASSIFIED GROWTHS FIVE HISTORIC VINTAGES AT FIVE CROWNS 1945 • 1975 • 1985 • 1995 • 2005 Five Bordeaux Classified Growths will take us across six decades, with every bottle carrying at least 20 years of age—reaching all the way back to the legendary 1945, L’Année de la Victoire. And because five is the magic number, the evening will be bookended by vintage Champagne en magnum and a classic dessert wine—both, you guessed it, from vintages ending in 5. Settle in, raise a glass, and join us for a warm and festive holiday dinner in Five Crowns’ historic Hurley Room as we explore how vintage, terroir, château character, and time transform the wines of Bordeaux. From the first bubbles to the final glass, there’s only one rule: IT HAS TO END IN 5. An evening celebrating friendship, great Bordeaux, remarkable vintages, and the magic of the season. WELCOME TO A VINTER WONDERLAND.

1995 Bordeaux Horizontal Pop-Up Tasting

Free

August 29, 2012, 6:00 PM Pacific Time

1995 Claret, 17 years later... 1995 has gone down as a very good vintage, as has its '96 counterpart. Each collector seems to have a favorite between the two, but 1995 has always occupied a special place in my heart. Why? Well, for one thing, it was a relief after the difficult and chilly years of 1991-1994. It was warm; it was the hottest summer in nearly 20 years (hotter than even the amped '90!) and the mild early autumn rain proved just enough to nourish the vines without diluting quality. And the wines on the Right Bank in particular are fantastic! '95 Pomerol is about as friendly a wine as one can find. If '96 is the brother that lives in New York and works in finance, the '95 is the sibling that lives in Malibu and has been equally successful as a web designer. The '95s are consistent, warm, generous, well structured with fine, mellow fruit. Let's taste across the Bordeaux appellations and see how they are holding up!
