"For consumers lucky enough to have access to the 1990 Clos de Vougeot-Vieilles Vignes (made from 85-year old vines), this super-concentrated wine represents the essence of Pinot Noir. Although more backward and less flattering to both smell and taste than the regular cuvee, the wine's weight, as well as massive length and intensity are admirable. The tannins are significant and the extraction of fruit is mind-boggling."
