For sheer size and intensity, this is the king of the mountain in 1999 chez Jadot. But it accomplishes this through density of extract and superb concentration yet never loses its fine sense of balance. It offers superb spice and buckets of sappy pinot extract with penetrating, powerful flavors of surprisingly good precision, given the raw size of this wine. Classy, long and beautiful. Jadot has been on quite a roll as of late with their Bonnes Mares and this is just one more great example.
