"As good as the '01 Corton-Charlemagne is, this is at another level altogether with an unusual combination of both more elegance and more power if not more drive and minerality. This too displays none of the now typical '01 character of slightly advanced aromas and remains pure and refined, offering a seamless delivery between nose and palate and an explosively long finish. An outstanding wine in the context of an average vintage and one that should reward [cellaring] . . ."
