This is a serious and very dense Montrachet and whle hypothetical blend descriptions are often misleading, in this particular case a mix of one-third Chevalier and two-thirds Bâtard actually does a good job of capturing the essential character of the '95 Sauzet Monty. The incredible sappy quality both coats and stains the palate and the length just goes on and on. If there is a nit, this is not the most elegant Montrachet that Sauzet has ever fashioned but the density and sheer size are incredibly impressive and this displays none of the botrytis notes that characterize so many less successful '95s. A knockout wine for the vintage. Note that another recent bottle was deep yellow and white not unpleasant, it possessed no where near the level of quality described above.
