"This too is showing a lot of wood spice though it is partially balanced by the sheer aromatic complexity of the red and black fruits, earth, game, fur and even a touch of smoked meat. There is good if not exceptional density with solid acid support, firmer tannins than the Clos de Vougeot and sneaky intensity that shows primarily on the finish. A fine effort for the vintage."
