"Deep, sulfidey, leesy aromas of pear liqueur, hazelnut and menthol; conveys a distinctly raw aspect in a positive way. Thick, dense, sweet and chewy, with ripe, sound acidity perfectly framing the wine silky fruit. Really stuffed to the gills with fruit, and remarkably chewy and dense, but not at all bitter or hard. A wonderfully suave, harmonious wine with superb length on the palate. It hard to imagine that the 2001 will match this for sheer class."
