"In contrast to the Vaillons and Montée de Tonnerre, this is more aromatically direct and perhaps somewhat less nuanced with extraordinarily pure aromas of gunflint and green fruit plus big, edgy, taut flavors that seem to be directly extracted from liquid stone. The almost painfully intense flavors broaden out on the finish and there is a slightly sweet quality to it that is completely buffered by the fine acidity."
