"The 1991 Clos des Cistes (primarily a Syrah-based wine with some Mourvèdre) proved to be an exceptional discovery. From yields of only 20 hectoliters per hectare (well under two tons per acre), this unfiltered cuvee of a Syrah/Mourvèdre blend is a blockbuster wine. Unfortunately, there are only limited quantities available in a few marketplaces. If you have access to it, this wine is worth buying by the case. It displays scents of smoke, vanillin, herbs, blackcurrants, and truffles. Rich and full-bodied, with layers of fruit, this [is a] beautifully concentrated, well-focused wine . . ."
