"It reveals an opaque purple color, and a tight but backward nose that reluctantly gives up scents of flowers, licorice, and toasty new oak. The wine is full-bodied, with plenty of grip, tannin, and concentration. It is a well-defined, rich, full-bodied Chateauneuf du Pape that could easily be mistaken for a grand cru red Burgundy."
