"Both the 1991 and 1990 Merlots should turn out to be knock-out wines. Moreover, both wines should offer up to a decade's worth of hedonistic drinking. The 1991 reveals that tell-tale smoky, coffee, mocha nose that reminds me of one of my favorite flavors of ice cream from Baskin-Robbins - Jamocha Almond Fudge. In the mouth, the creamy texture, sweet ripe fruit, and lusciousness make for a delicious glass of wine. These top class Merlots remain the benchmark for this varietal in California."

The fourth-largest wine producer in the world, led by California. American fine wine is defined by ripe, expressive fruit and a spirit of innovation, with Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon among the most sought-after wines globally.
Produces plush, supple, fruit-forward reds with plum and chocolate notes. Softer and earlier-maturing than Cabernet, it adds flesh and roundness to blends and stars in Right Bank Bordeaux.
