"Full bright ruby. Deeper, gamier aromas of smoky black fruits, espresso and oak. Thick, very concentrated and powerfully structured. Offers excellent fruit but is currently dominated by its firm acids, tougher tannins and obvious oak component. Needs time in bottle."

Renowned for powerful, richly fruited Shiraz, most famously from the Barossa Valley, alongside age-worthy Cabernet and cool-climate whites. A warm climate and old, ungrafted vines produce wines of generosity and depth.
Syrah (Shiraz) produces dark, powerful reds with black fruit, pepper and smoked-meat notes. It yields elegant, perfumed wines in the northern Rhone and bold, rich styles in Australia.
