"Bright, deep ruby. Leesy, roasted aromas of blackcurrant, gunpowder, roast coffee and exotic spices. Dense, thick and full on the palate, with superb concentration and depth of flavor. Notes of gunpowder and black tea contribute to the wine complexity. Finishes very long, with ripe, lush tannins. Pliant and wonderfully ripe, but not at all over the top."

Renowned for powerful, richly fruited Shiraz, most famously from the Barossa Valley, alongside age-worthy Cabernet and cool-climate whites. A warm climate and old, ungrafted vines produce wines of generosity and depth.
Syrah (Shiraz) produces dark, powerful reds with black fruit, pepper and smoked-meat notes. It yields elegant, perfumed wines in the northern Rhone and bold, rich styles in Australia.
