"Opaque inky ruby. Superripe, assertive aromas of kirsch, dark plum, fig cake and coffee, with exotic hints of sandalwood, clove and cinnamon. An outsized and densely textured shiraz whose 16.2% alcohol gives a glyceral, unctuous texture to the sweet, concentrated flavors of blackberry, cassis and chocolate. There's considerable power and a brooding quality to the finish, which features powerful tannins and a roasted plum quality."

Renowned for powerful, richly fruited Shiraz, most famously from the Barossa Valley, alongside age-worthy Cabernet and cool-climate whites. A warm climate and old, ungrafted vines produce wines of generosity and depth.
Syrah (Shiraz) produces dark, powerful reds with black fruit, pepper and smoked-meat notes. It yields elegant, perfumed wines in the northern Rhone and bold, rich styles in Australia.
