"The 2005 Shiraz âCafe Blockâ was also aged in 60% new oak. Not as expressive aromatically and more tightly wound in the mouth, but loaded with dense fruit, it needs 8-10 years to reveal its full potential. If it evolves as I think it will, my score will appear to be stingy."

Renowned for powerful, richly fruited Shiraz, most famously from the Barossa Valley, alongside age-worthy Cabernet and cool-climate whites. A warm climate and old, ungrafted vines produce wines of generosity and depth.
Syrah (Shiraz) produces dark, powerful reds with black fruit, pepper and smoked-meat notes. It yields elegant, perfumed wines in the northern Rhone and bold, rich styles in Australia.
