96 RJ "Dark red violet color; big, herbaceous, tobacco, cigar box, menthol, herbal nose; tasty, tobacco, herbaceous, cigar box, tart black fruit, tart plum, berry, anise palate; long finish 96+ pts. (best Dominus I've ever tasted)" 92-95 WA âThe 1995 Dominus, a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Petit Verdot, is not as sumptuous as the 1994, but it is still an exceptional example of Cabernet. The color is a deep, thick-looking purple. The wine possesses a sweet, cassis-scented aroma that has not yet begun to take on additional nuances. Full-bodied, with low acidity, sweet tannin, and outstanding concentration and purity, this should turn out to be equivalent, if not slightly superior to the 1992, and perhaps similar to the 1990. It is a large-scaled, more noticeably structured style of Dominus that will age well for two decades. Because of a strict selection, only 6,000 cases were made in 1995.â
