"Mocha, espresso, savory herbs and graphite are all woven together in the 2010 Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia. Tightly wound, vibrant and beautifully delineated, the 2010 isn't as open or approachable young as it usually is. Instead, readers will have to be patient with the 2010. Cool veins of saline minerality support the vibrant finish. Even with all of the tension that is present today, there is also an element of silkiness in the tannin that will emerge more fully over time."

Italy grows more indigenous grape varieties than any other country and produces wine in all 20 of its regions. From Piedmont's Nebbiolo to Tuscany's Sangiovese, its finest wines pair structure and bright acidity with a strong sense of place.
The heartland of Sangiovese, producing Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and the Cabernet-influenced 'Super Tuscans' of the coast. Its wines balance bright acidity, savory structure and cellar-worthiness.
The coastal Tuscan appellation that birthed the 'Super Tuscan' movement, producing Bordeaux-style blends of Cabernet, Merlot and Cabernet Franc of richness and polish.
The world's most planted premium red grape, yielding deeply colored, tannic and structured wines with cassis, cedar and graphite notes. Firm tannins and acidity make it exceptionally age-worthy, whether as a varietal or the backbone of a Bordeaux blend.
