"The 2002 Savennieres offers a terrific opportunity to get in on the last of a great vintage and at an amazing price. A penetrating nose of fresh lemon, tangerine, sweet floral perfume, bees wax, and ocean breeze leads to a bright, razor-sharp, adamantly dry yet juicy and refreshing palate, saturated with salt, wet stone, chalk and oyster shell suggestions of minerality. The finish is intense, bone dry, refreshing, and astonishingly salty and chalky even by the standards of this appellation. Unlike too many Savennieres, this one (at a mere 13% alcohol) displays lift and positively dances on the palate. Enjoy this beauty anytime . . ."
