"Deep bright ruby. Urgent, complex, rather wild nose combines blackberry, violet, leather, game, nutmeg, mace, clove and black pepper. Bright, pure and intensely flavored, with juicy sweetness and a suave texture that reminded me of a top Northern Rhône syrah. Complex, varietally precise flavors of raspberry, minerals, gunflint, smoke and pepper. Lovely subtle finishing sweetness and peppery character. Consistently among the handful of great Australian shirazes, but far more French than Australian in style."

Renowned for powerful, richly fruited Shiraz, most famously from the Barossa Valley, alongside age-worthy Cabernet and cool-climate whites. A warm climate and old, ungrafted vines produce wines of generosity and depth.
