"The estateâs flagship 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Winston Hill is incredibly shut down today. It doesnât have the overt juiciness of the other Cabernets, but instead relies on a more subtle expression of fruit supported by serious structure. Cassis, blueberry jam cloves, graphite and violets are some of the nuances that inform the pointed, delineated finish. It will be interesting to see where the 2009 goes over the coming years. The blend is 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 4% Merlot and 3%Petit Verdot."

A benchmark Napa AVA known for structured Cabernet with a signature 'Rutherford dust' - a fine, dusty tannin - and classic cassis fruit.
An aromatic red grape lending perfume, red fruit and a leafy, savory edge. It thrives in the Loire and as a key blending partner in Bordeaux, especially Saint-Emilion.
The world's most planted premium red grape, yielding deeply colored, tannic and structured wines with cassis, cedar and graphite notes. Firm tannins and acidity make it exceptionally age-worthy, whether as a varietal or the backbone of a Bordeaux blend.
