94+ ST "Saturated, bright medium ruby. Inviting nose offers cassis, leather, black pepper and cocoa powder. Very suave and fine-grained, with harmonious acidity carrying the dark fruit and cocoa flavors through a very long, resounding finish. Polished tannins coat the front teeth. This is amazingly fresh for a wine that was only bottled in December of 2010."

The world's most planted premium red grape, yielding deeply colored, tannic and structured wines with cassis, cedar and graphite notes. Firm tannins and acidity make it exceptionally age-worthy, whether as a varietal or the backbone of a Bordeaux blend.
