"The finest Eloge to date is the 1997, a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Merlot. This wine has put on weight since last year (a tendency of all of the Conn Valley wines). It reveals a complex, Cheval Blanc-like nose of black fruits intermixed with chocolate, cedar, licorice, and Asian spices. A classic, it is deep, opulent, and medium to full-bodied, with admirable balance between power and elegance. Possessing exceptional purity, an alluring texture, and a long, smooth finish."
