"The 2000 FÚvre Montée de Tonnerre is a classic expression of the vineyard and the vintage, and will prove to be an excellent bottle for drinking from 2005 out to 2020 or so. The nose is deep, complex and very pure, offering up notes of green apple, lime zest, intense minerality, a bit of beeswax, and spring flowers in the upper register. On the palate the wine is medium-full, crisp and tensile, with excellent focus, a fine core of fruit, and outstanding length and grip on the snappy finish. It is approachable now, though still rather primary, and deserves a few years in the cellar to develop further complexity. An excellent example."
