"The 1953 CĂ´tes du Jura Rouge from Domaine Bourdy is a lovely wine at its apogee of peak drinkability. The beautiful nose offers up scents of cherries, orange zest, cinnamon, a touch of celery seed, coffee and a fine base of autumnal soil tones. On the palate the wine is deep, fullish and tangy, with excellent complexity, melted tannins and just a . . . very long and transparent finish. I very much like the intensity of flavor here . . ."
