"This wine is a candidate for one of the finest Brunello di Montalcinos of the vintage. A thick looking color suggests considerable intensity and extraction. The huge nose of black truffles, jammy black-cherries, and toasty new oak is followed by a massively-endowed, full-bodied, immensely concentrated wine that tastes almost sweet because of the exceptional ripeness and fruit density. No doubt there is significant tannin lurking beneath the layers of fat and glycerin. This is a terrific Brunello di Montalcino. . .Unfortunately, as with so many great wines, quantities are minuscule."

Italy grows more indigenous grape varieties than any other country and produces wine in all 20 of its regions. From Piedmont's Nebbiolo to Tuscany's Sangiovese, its finest wines pair structure and bright acidity with a strong sense of place.
The heartland of Sangiovese, producing Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and the Cabernet-influenced 'Super Tuscans' of the coast. Its wines balance bright acidity, savory structure and cellar-worthiness.
A powerful, age-worthy Sangiovese from the warm hills of Montalcino, requiring extended aging and prized for depth and longevity.
