"La Richemone is one of the most elegant of the premier crus in Nuits and the 2010 from Domaine Michelot is excellent. The wine will be a very suave and silky example of the vintage that will offer up quite sophisticated drinking after seven or eight years of bottle age. The sappy and complex nose delivers a mélange of red and black cherries, pomegranate, lovely minerality, raw cocoa, smoke and a nice touch of violet in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and velvety on the attack, with a sappy core of pure fruit, lovely elegance and nascent complexity and a long, tangy and ripely tannic finish. This is a really delicious bottle of Nuits in the making, with its Vosne-Romanée proximity very much in evidence."
