"To me, Serafin's best wine, year in and year out is not his Grand Cru Charmes-Chambertin, but his Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers, a Premier Cru. In 1988 it is the most explosively rich, concentrated wine in his portfolio, and should be in any conscientiously stocked cellar in the world. It is bursting with black fruits and has an underlying licorice and exotic character that makes it even more riveting."
