"An explosive and strikingly complex nose of intensely spicy and fully mature yet fresh dark cherry aromas, game, smoke and earth are followed by concentrated, powerful and broad-scaled flavors that are still quite vibrant before culminating in a mouth coating finish that delivers simply huge length. This is one seriously complex wine which has finally come into its own after years of being a brooding beast. There is a touch of rusticity on the finish but otherwise this is about as good as Corton rouge gets. Note further that there is absolutely no rush to drink up, indeed this wine should see its 50th birthday in fine condition. Tasted several times though this is easily the best that this has ever shown . . ."
