100 RP "The Chardonnay CuvĂ©e IndigĂšne was inspired by Helen Turley in 1988. Essentially a winemakerâs barrel selection from the finest lots of the Old Wente clone, the dominate clonal component of all these single-vineyard wines, it is fermented with natural yeasts, and has always been one of Peter Michaelâs finest Chardonnays. Utter perfection, the 2012 Chardonnay CuvĂ©e IndigĂšne (460 cases) possesses copious notes of orange marmalade, apricot, crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e, honeysuckle, citrus oil and nectarines. This beautiful, seamless, exotic, full-bodied, compelling Chardonnay reveals a 45-second finish." 98-100 RP "The creamy, flamboyant 2012 Chardonnay Cuvee Indigene (a whopping 563 cases) tastes like a magnificent Batard-Montrachet from the glory days of Michel Niellon during the decades of the eighties and early nineties. Abundant notes of tropical fruits, citrus oil, orange blossom and hazelnuts are found in this full-bodied, deep, sexy Chardonnay. This compelling effort represents a beautiful synthesis between a French grand cru Burgundy and a full-throttle California Chardonnay."
