"As I have written many times, Venge, who is now assisted by his son, has an extraordinary resume, having made fabulous wines at Villa Mt. Eden in addition to producing the first 100-point Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa, the 1985 Groth Reserve . . . . [recently] I had my last bottle of one of Vengeās great Cabernet Sauvignons, the 1978 Villa Mt. Eden (a vineyard now owned by Plumpjack). Still spectacular at 27 years of age, this fabulously complex Cabernet Sauvignon is further proof that few people have as much experience and a resume as impressive as the ebullient Nils Venge."
