"[From the Bien Nacido Vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley bottled at 13.5% alcohol.] A beautifully rendered nose that is very pinot yet exotic and pure with obvious spice and dark berry fruit nuances that complement perfectly the concentrated, intense, sappy and moderately robust flavors that are underpinned by suave yet noticeably present tannins and fine length. I like the dry extract here because it gives the flavors a real sense of body without noticeable extraction taking over. An impressive effort that is well-structured yet marvelously balanced."
