"This 1997 should elicit consumer interest in what is going on at Paoletti's estate vineyards in Calistoga. The 1997 Non Plus Ultra Proprietary Red Wine reveals a saturated ruby/purple color in addition to a sweet nose of toasty vanillin (from new oak barrels) intertwined with ripe black currants and cherry liqueur. The wine is medium to full-bodied, gorgeously pure and ripe, with a sweet, deep mid-palate as well as moderate amounts of soft tannin in the long (30+ seconds) finish. A youthful, gorgeously-proportioned proprietary red."
