"The 1998 "Maleea" Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon is worth its high entry price. There are 500 cases of this blend of 55% Cabernet and 45% Shiraz, aged in 100% new French wood. Opaque purple in color, with a spectacularly intense as well as pure nose of melted licorice, cassis, and blackberry, this full-bodied wine is extremely well-delineated, has fabulous symmetry and overall harmony, seamless integration of acidity, tannin, and alcohol, and a 35-40 second finish."

Renowned for powerful, richly fruited Shiraz, most famously from the Barossa Valley, alongside age-worthy Cabernet and cool-climate whites. A warm climate and old, ungrafted vines produce wines of generosity and depth.
