"The 2009 Syrah Frei Road, from the Martinellis' Zio Ranch, is tremendous. A huge, explosive wine, the 2009 is endowed with serious power and pure voluptuous pleasure. Dark cherries, plums, spices and licorice all come to life in this inky, muscular Syrah. The 2009 is an impressive first effort from one of Sonoma's top sites."
