"The 2008 Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru cuvée is really terrific in this vintage, and will prove to be one of the really stellar values amongst this high-powered lineup. The bouquet is deep, vibrant and sappy, as it soars from the glass in a blend of black cherries, plums, bitter chocolate, a simply great, complex expression of soil and a topnote of woodsmoke. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and impressively complex, with super purity on the sappy attack, fine mid-palate depth and a very long, modestly tannic and soil-driven finish that closes with great grip and tang. A superb bottle."
