"Upon opening, this wine is dominated by smoky, charred oak and toasted coconut aromas. But airing provides a glimpse of rich, sweet plums, blackberries, currants, herbs, game and tree bark. Soft tannins and moderate acidity make this approachable now."

Renowned for powerful, richly fruited Shiraz, most famously from the Barossa Valley, alongside age-worthy Cabernet and cool-climate whites. A warm climate and old, ungrafted vines produce wines of generosity and depth.
Syrah (Shiraz) produces dark, powerful reds with black fruit, pepper and smoked-meat notes. It yields elegant, perfumed wines in the northern Rhone and bold, rich styles in Australia.
