"Denner's 2011 Mother of Exiles is quite a bit sweeter and succulent than the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon. The addition of Petit Verdot and higher toast levels result in a distinctly sweeter, spicier wine that will appeal to readers who appreciate a riper, more overt style. Cloves, lavender, menthol and French oak wrap around the racy finish. Mother of Exiles is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Petit Verdot and 7% Merlot."

The world's most planted premium red grape, yielding deeply colored, tannic and structured wines with cassis, cedar and graphite notes. Firm tannins and acidity make it exceptionally age-worthy, whether as a varietal or the backbone of a Bordeaux blend.
