"Unfiltered appearance. The most complex of these 2003 chardonnays on the nose, with notes of stone and citrus fruits, baking spices and minerals, along with a reductive flinty nuance. Sweet, dense and fresh; fat but shapely. Hints of ripe apricot with intriguing iodine traces. Finishes long and subtly spicy. This may ultimately merit an even higher score."
